Moving FAQ & policies

Be ready for moving day

What to know before your crew arrives.

These preparation steps help protect your belongings, keep the crew safe, and prevent delays. Ask our team before moving day if you need help with a special item or requirement.

Before the movers arrive

Do dressers need to be empty?+

Yes. Empty all dresser drawers before the crew arrives. Clothing and loose items add weight, can shift during transport, and may damage the furniture.

Who disconnects the washer and dryer?+

Washers and dryers must be fully disconnected before the crew arrives unless another arrangement has been confirmed in writing. Turn off the water supply, remove the hoses, drain any remaining water, disconnect the dryer vent, and secure the cords and hoses.

Should refrigerators and freezers be prepared?+

Yes. Empty, defrost, and dry refrigerators and freezers before moving day. Secure shelves and remove loose items.

How should boxes be prepared?+

Pack boxes completely, tape the top and bottom, and label each box by room. Do not leave open boxes or loose items for the crew to carry.

What should I do with valuables?+

Keep cash, jewelry, medications, keys, personal documents, electronics backups, and irreplaceable items with you rather than placing them on the moving truck.

Access and safety

What access details should I arrange?+

Reserve elevators and loading areas, obtain gate codes, confirm building move-in rules, and make sure the truck has a safe place to park. Tell us about stairs or long walking distances before moving day.

How should I prepare the home?+

Clear hallways and doorways, remove trip hazards, protect pets and children in a safe area, and make sure there is enough light for the crew to work.

Are there items movers cannot transport?+

Do not pack gasoline, propane, ammunition, fireworks, chemicals, paint, or other flammable or hazardous materials. Ask us in advance if you are unsure about an item.

What about large or specialty items?+

Tell us before booking about safes, pianos, exercise equipment, oversized furniture, glass, artwork, appliances, or items requiring disassembly so the correct crew and equipment can be planned.

Estimates, inventory, and concerns

How is my estimate prepared?+

We review the locations, service type, home size, access, inventory, large items, and special handling needs. Final pricing and availability are confirmed after our team reviews the scope.

Why is a complete inventory important?+

An accurate item list helps us plan crew size, truck space, equipment, and time. Add every large item and an estimated number of boxes to the online cube sheet.

How do I report damage or another concern?+

Use the online claim form as soon as possible. Include the job date, a detailed description, photos, receipts, and any other supporting documents. A submission begins a review and does not automatically establish liability or reimbursement.

Can I change my inventory after booking?+

Yes, but tell us as soon as possible. Added items, access changes, or service changes may affect the crew, truck, schedule, or estimate.
